One of my favorite types of projects to work on are those that let be be as creative as possible. Along with my good friends and expert knife makers at Northern Knives, I have been able to turn my wild art ideas into tangible, functional pieces of art!
It's been nearly 3 years since Northern Knives and I released the Spaced Out Bugout. This time around, we have taken the narrative back to earth, but not without a few visitors hitching a ride from the great unknown.
For the Zombie Military 2, I wanted to do something that fit within its militaristic themes. At the same time, the goal was to throw realism out the window and create imagery that was both in line with the original knife but twisted into something dark, vibrant, and sci-fi.
It was a lot of work and a lot of fun to put this together with the amazing folks over at Northern Knives. I look forward to hearing what you all think when you get these in hand. As always, thank you for the support!
Northern Knives and myself have managed to bring a bit of fun and art to this utilitarian knife design. Through an in-house process we were able to not only upgrade the materials of this tool, but have made the scales stouter while still retaining it's light weight nature by using full titanium scales and hardware.
The anodized artwork is part of the titanium scales and not merely painted on, while the desert sand in the artwork is a hardwearing ceramic coating known as Cerakote (used on everything from industrial machines, engine pistons and firearm parts).
This is truly the most difficult customization Northern Knives has been tasked with to date. We hope you enjoy owning the knife as much as we enjoyed developing it!
In addition to the completely modified Zombie Military 2, collectors will be given an individual copy of the "The Fallen", a graphic novel intended to describe in detail the story unfolding on the scales of this knife.
Each copy of "The Fallen" will be signed and numbered in accordance to the serial number of the specific knife you receive. The purpose of this book is to not only function as a bonus to add to your knife collection, but also to be used as your official Certificate of Authenticity from myself and the folks over at Northern Knives!
